In this article, I am going to talk about what I have learnt about self-love and why it is important hence a challenge.
Why is self-love important?” you might ask. For many of us, self-love might sound like a luxury rather than a necessity or some may relate self-love to selfishness.
Ironically, however, self-care might actually be needed most by those of us who work too hard and who are constantly striving to surpass ourselves and grasp the shape-shifting phantasm of perfection. This entails a lot of self-criticisms, and that persecutory inner voice that constantly tells us how we could’ve done things better is a hallmark of perfectionism.
By the sentence ” who work too hard ” I meant anyone who is working hard be it a housewife, a working woman or man anyone maybe you are striving to make someone feel happy or striving to achieve your set goal, you know what in the haste of this somewhere you are forgetting yourself hence here comes the self-love.
I have read about a lot of self-care and self-love challenge on the Internet. I usually want to at least try them, but there are always one or two things on the list that I’m not really into. Then, I feel like if I don’t do them, I’m not completing the challenge and I’ve FAILED.
That completely defeats the purpose because I’m certainly not “loving” myself if I feel like a failure then I decided what if I create my own self-love challenge. Below are the 30 self-care items on the list which I am going to do this month you guys please feel free to modify and update a sheet according to your need.
Side Note: These are not meant to be in any certain order. The idea is to pick something off the list, check it off, and repeat for 30 days If you don’t like anything replace it as I said before.
30 Day Self Love Challenge
1. Listen to Music
3. Take a mindful walk
4. Take a steam bath
5. Paint your nails
6. Try a new restaurant
7. Eat a brownie ( come one you need to pump yourself with little calories and that’s fine )
8. Organise room
9. Print favourite photos
10. Take a staycation alone
11. Have a big breakfast
12. Go to bed early
13. Plan a vacation
14. Be creative
15. Write a blog once in a week
16. Do nothing
17. Drink more water
18. Visit Salon
19. Clean out closet
20. Create a playlist ( I have never done this, it’s on priority)
21. Write down points you are proud of
20. Buy candles
21. Start a new book
23. Hit the Gym ( Time to burn off the brownies, well I have taken the membership now)
24. Call a friend and catch up
25. Buy Fujifilm insta mini ( Pink colour)
27. Get a massage
28. Be regular to Gym
29. While on work switch off social media
30. Treat poor children with food
